LeanMail Testimonial Video Guidelines

How to make a testimonial video that wins the day!

Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to create this testimonial. These are just guidelines to help you get started, and there's no need to worry about making it perfect! Feel free to send us something very rough, with all the “uhhs” and interruptions—that’s completely fine. We will handle all the editing and make sure you come across as a superstar.

Rest assured, we won’t post or share anything without your final approval. We want you to feel great about how the video turns out!
1. Don't overthink this.  It's pretty easy to do and takes about a minute.
  • Hold your phone horizontally, as shown in the picture above.
  • Say a few words about who your are, like: "Hi, I'm Miles and I head up the product solutions team at Google in Bayonne, New Jersey."
2. Describe the Initial Problem or Challenge
  • Think of a challenge or two that you had previously that you were able to solve by using LeanMail, like, "It seems like I've never been able to keep track of the to-do's that were building up in my inbox."
3. Introduce the Solution
  • Explain how you solved the problem(s) with LeanMail. Don't explain it technically, just say something like, "As soon as I started using LeanMail, not only did I get on top of my tasks, but there were so many other benefits as well."
4. Focus on Personal Benefits
  • Something like, "I've been using LeanMail for a year now, and I have full control of my inbox. I never miss a mail, and finding emails is so easy."
5. Emotional Appeal
  • Something similar to, "I know you've probably tried a lot of ways to deal with your email, but this actually works!"
6. Encourage the Team
    • Relate to the Audience: Make sure to encourage your team to also embrace the change, framing it as something that will benefit them in the long run.
    • Example: “I can’t recommend this enough. I encourage all of you to attend their workshop—you’ll be amazed at how much of a difference it makes in how you manage your day.”
7. Closing with Gratitude
    • Express Appreciation: End with a grateful note, thanking the team or the system that helped you improve.
Example: “Thank you all for listening, and I hope this helps you experience the same improvements I’ve felt.”

Here is an example of a script using the various pieces above: (Remember, you can record one sentence at a time following the guidelines and we'll put it all together.)

"Hi, I'm Miles and I head up the product solutions team at Google in Bayonne, New Jersey.

It seems like I've never been able to keep track of the to-do's that were building up in my inbox.

As soon as I started using LeanMail, not only did I get on top of my tasks, but there were so many other benefits as well.

I've been using LeanMail for a year now, and I have full control of my inbox. I never miss a mail, and finding emails is so easy.

I know you've probably tried a lot of ways to deal with your email, but this actually works!

I can’t recommend this enough. I encourage all of you to attend their workshop—you’ll be amazed at how much of a difference LeanMail makes in how you manage your day."

Additional Tips:

    • Keep it Concise: Aim for a video of 60-90 seconds to maintain engagement and keep your energy flowing.
    • Use a Conversational Tone: Speak as though you’re talking directly to your team (look at the camera lens), keeping it personal.
    • Be Natural: Don't read.  Remember, you can just stop and start and keep the camera running because we will do all the editing to make you look like a rock-star. Don’t over-rehearse. Authenticity is key.
