How to Process Emails
In Your “Overflow” Folder

Before the training started, we requested those who had more than 100 emails in their inbox to create an "Overflow" folder to which they would move emails in order keep their inbox manageable during the training.  The "Overflow" folder can also be used when you come back from vacation too.  Just move everything to that folder and follow the instructions below:

1. If you haven't already, create an "Overflow" folder under your inbox.

2. Begin at the top and work your way down, methodically deleting any unnecessary emails, archiving others according to your system or utilizing LeanMail InstantArchive if familiar, and moving any emails requiring action to your inbox for processing.

3. After every 10 emails you have moved to your inbox, organize these by Prioritizing and Planning your actions.

4. Rinse and repeat. Continue this method until you're satisfied that the remaining emails in your Overflow do not require immediate attention or archiving.

5. Consider organizing your Overflow folder by Sender or Subject at this stage to efficiently manage emails in groups.

6. Resist the urge to move an excessive number of emails to your inbox at once, to avoid recreating the initial clutter.
