THE HISTORIC CAMINO DE SANTIAGO

El Camino de Santiago, or the Way of St. James, is a historic pilgrimage route ending in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, where St. James's remains are believed to be. Dating back to the 9th century, it became a major medieval pilgrimage, known for spiritual renewal and cultural exchange. The most popular route, Camino Francés, stretches 800 kilometers from France. Marked by scallop shells, it attracts thousands seeking adventure and reflection. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Camino offers a unique blend of physical challenge, history, and culture.

IT'S TIME TO CARE FOR YOURSELF AGAIN

With one-on-one guidance and group support,
you've found a safe place to dig deep and nurture your inner self.

TWO UPCOMING RETREAT DATES

May 19-25, 2025

Mid September 2025
Throughout the 5-day hike in Galicia, Spain, our mission is to rediscover the joy of life, dissolve our pains and limiting beliefs, shed the burdens we carry, and reawaken the inner child within each of us.

We aim to reconnect with our purpose, craft a vision for an ideal future, and manifest it from the inside out.

You'll also encounter individuals who will play a significant role in your journey — becoming an integral part of your experience and your life.

Every morning, we'll breakfast together as we enjoy 60 minutes of group coaching, followed by  individual mentoring throughout the day, walking with our guide, Chus Carrascal & Lead Coach, Michael Hoffman.

Dinners at the finest regional dining spots, offering authentic gastronomic experiences unique to each location. Lunches, as seen above, can be excellent as well!

Your personal trainer will be assigned to you five weeks before your departure, guaranteeing you achieve the best physical condition to complete the 127 kilometers in 5 days, culminating at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
Each participant will have their own room in quality hotels (the best in each location). You may have hear of "Albergues" on El Camino.  They are excellent if you want to "rough it", but this experience is more about immersing yourself in nature - without some of the inconveniences often associated with El Camino.
Daily group networking activities are planned, along with a few unexpected surprises to enhance your experience. You will have the possibility to both contribute to the group and do your own thing at any point in the trip.

During the day, there will be limited internet connection and access to smartphones (technological detox). If you like, you can leave your phone with the guide or have it transferred to your next hotel.

Ultimate Guide: Camino de Santiago FAQs Answered

Are you a non-profit organization?

While our organization operates on a for-profit basis, the purpose is to ensure the sustainability and quality of the experiences we offer. We strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our participants by promoting health, well-being, and spiritual growth.

What kind of yoga do you do?

In our context, "yoga" refers to healthy stretching and breathing exercises designed to improve physical and mental well-being. There are no religious connotations attached to our yoga practices, and they are inclusive, aiming to support the overall health of our participants.

Is this oriented to Christians or other religions?

We do not follow exclusive religious beliefs but rather aim to be inclusive. Our primary goal is to support individuals on their personal journeys, regardless of their faith or background.

Why do you say you are Pilgrims if it is not religious? Pilgrimage with a Secular Focus

Pilgrimage has historically been associated with religious or spiritual journeys to sacred sites. However, the concept of pilgrimage can extend beyond religious connotations and be embraced in a secular context. Here’s how:

  • Personal Growth and Self-Discovery: A pilgrimage can be a journey of personal growth, self-reflection, and self-discovery. It offers an opportunity to step away from the routine of daily life, reflect on personal goals, and gain a deeper understanding of oneself.
  • Connection with Nature and Culture: Pilgrims can focus on connecting with nature, appreciating the beauty of the landscape, and understanding the local culture and history of the places they visit. This approach fosters a sense of belonging and appreciation for the world around us.
  • Physical and Mental Well-beingUndertaking a pilgrimage can be a form of physical exercise and mental rejuvenation. The physical challenge of the journey, combined with the peace and tranquility of the environment, can enhance overall well-being.
  • Mindfulness and Presence:  A secular pilgrimage encourages mindfulness and being present in the moment. It’s about appreciating the journey itself rather than focusing on reaching a religious destination. Practicing mindfulness can lead to a greater sense of calm and clarity.
  • Community and Shared Experiences:  Pilgrimages can also be about building a sense of community and sharing experiences with fellow travelers. The journey can create bonds and shared memories that are valuable in their own right, independent of religious significance.
  • Reflecting on Universal Values: Pilgrims can reflect on universal values such as compassion, kindness, and resilience. These values are not confined to any single religion but are part of the broader human experience.
  • Purposeful Journey:  The essence of a pilgrimage is a purposeful journey. This purpose can be deeply personal and unique to each individual, whether it’s finding inspiration, seeking peace, or simply enjoying the journey itself.
Is there a fitness requirement?

While there is no strict fitness requirement, we strongly advise participants to engage in regular walking and physical activity prior to the event. The retreat involves significant walking distances, so preparing your body through consistent exercise will enhance your experience and ensure you are comfortable throughout the journey. We send out information regarding how to prepare in advance.

What does the daily schedule look like?
Each day includes group coaching sessions, individual coaching, Nordic walking, networking activities, and dining at top regional spots.
More details are given as we get closer to the event.
What is the age requirement for the retreat?
Participants must be at least 25 years old to join the retreat. In practice, most attendees are between 35 and 65. While we welcome all adults, we emphasize the importance of networking as a significant part of the journey. There is no upper age limit, but participants should be in good physical condition to handle the 127-kilometer hike.
What kind of accommodation is provided?

Participants will stay in quality hotels with private rooms, ensuring comfort throughout the journey.

What should I bring for the retreat?

Participants will receive a detailed packing list, but essentials include comfortable walking shoes (make sure you have broken them in), Nordic poles, appropriate clothing, and personal items including sun screen and lip balm.

Are there specific clothing requirements?

Yes, bring moisture-wicking shirts, sturdy hiking pants, a waterproof jacket, and a hat for sun protection. Good quality walking socks and a comfortable pair of broken-in hiking shoes are essential.

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions when you register. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs and ensure that safe meal options are available.

How do I register for the retreat?

Interested people can register through the LeanMail website by selecting their preferred dates and completing the registration form or right here.

Are there any preparatory activities before the retreat?

Yes. We will offer one or two webinars.
